Introduction
Due to the forthcoming retirement of our current Head Professional, Waltham Windmill Golf Club is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic PGA Professional to lead all aspects of golf operations whilst enhancing the overall member and visitor experience.
We are currently constructing a brand new pro shop including an indoor swing studio. The new building will be located next to the first tee and will be ready for the new professional to move into upon appointment. We will also be investing in a new fleet of buggies once the new pro shop opens.
The successful candidate will be the face of the club’s golf activities, combining first-class customer service, coaching expertise, and retail management with strong leadership skills.

Waltham Windmill Golf Club is a proprietary club with a strong reputation in the area for its golf course and a thriving, loyal membership base. We have a full membership with a waiting list in operation.
The club has a full, well-supported competition calendar, a welcoming environment and a top-quality golf course that has benefitted from significant investment by the owners in recent years.
The Club is popular with visiting parties and societies due to the standard of the golf course and the high-quality bar & catering offering in the Clubhouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the pro shop with reasonable opening hours.
- Offer a suitable range of apparel and equipment.
- Provide custom fitting services, advice, and club repairs.
- Deliver individual and group coaching sessions.
- Help develop a scheme to increase ladies’ membership and participation.
- Provide demo days, coaching clinics and support club initiatives.
- Act as an ambassador for the Club in professional competitions, matches and pro-ams.
- Support tee management, competitions and events.
- Be the first point of contact for visitors and guests.
- Manage the 1st and 10th tees and enforce the Club’s dress code.
- Manage the payment of green fees and buggy hire.
- Ensure high standards of member service and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Director and Club Manager to support the Club’s strategic objectives.
You will have the freedom to run your own business whilst benefitting from the support and profile of a highly regarded Club.
What We’re Looking For
- A fully qualified PGA Professional with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills with members, guests, and staff.
- Proficiency in golf operations software, digital communications, and modern coaching techniques.
- A passion for growing the game of golf and delivering a first-class member experience.
- A reliable and energetic person who is keen to help shape the future of the Club.
- A strong business acumen and the ability to effectively promote the Club.
